Village of Terrassa

June 7, 2014

The City of Corona approved an application to amend the High Density Residential designation in the El Cerrito Specific Plan; North side of Foothill Parkway, east of State Street and west of Bedford Canyon Road to accommodate a medium-density residential development.

This approval was an amendment from a previously approved plan of 459-unit apartment complex that was approved in 2011. The change will now allow for Tri-Point Homes to bring the Village of Terrassa, a 146 home development, to Corona. The for-sale development will consist of 52 single family detached condominiums and 94 motor court units.

This gated community will have homes that vary in size from 1,735 sq. ft. to 2,439 sq. ft. and the development will include a community pool, sunning deck, shaded lunch area, tot lot, bench seating, and turf areas with walking paths.

At the March 24, 2014 Planning and Housing Commission Meeting City of Corona’s Senior Engineer Albert Espinoza stated that this project will also create improvements to Foothill Parkway as conditioned in the original proposal in 2011. The project will add three lanes in the eastbound direction on Foothill Parkway, two lanes in the westbound direction as well as include left-turn lanes at their main entrance at Crossroads Street. This project will also create improvements at Bedford Canyon and I-15 to add to the widening improvements along Foothill Parkway. The three lanes in the eastbound direction will begin at State Street. A raised median will be installed at State Street and Foothill. The improvements are expected to be completed January 2016.

The project was approved by the Planning and Housing Commission on March 24, 2014 and then moved forward to the April 16, 2014 City Council meeting where the Council approved the project.
